Mid-century vintage geode glass prism ashtray containing the colour-changing agent, neodymium. The ashtray changes from pink and lilac to green depending on the light it is exposed to. It changes quite dramatically…as if by magic…so it's quite exciting to witness! Plus, of course, the prism cuts make the light flash and dance about. Sorry for the poor quality green shot…it turned green in poor artificial light. The piece is in almost mint condition with just one very tiny 2mm ding to one of the lower corners. Other than that, it's pristine with precision cut sides and beveled edges. Even the corners are beveled. The prism style is similar to Flavio Poli, but this piece is by either Heinrich Hoffman, Zelezny Brod Sklo or Moser. Very rare, especially in such good condition. The top triangle shape is 12cm x 12cm x 12cm. The maximum width is 14cm. The height is 3.5cm. The weight is 637g. A lovely thing it own, especially if you could position it where it would gradually change colour through the day.
